Re: Quickest Way To Publish A Book

Dear Aspiring Publisher and/or Entrepreneur:

Are you frustrated that YOU can't get your first Kindle eBook published?

Or you find the whole writing process is too long and time consuming?

And worse of all -- you usually give up before you're finished 🙁

My name is James Jones and I felt the same way publishing my first Kindle eBook. I struggled for weeks until I finally came to the conclusion that I'm just not a very good writer.

But then I had a revelation -- I started thinking about the types of books I liked as a kid. And one of those was a book with pictures of animals and you had to answer a question about the animal. Depending on the answer you choose you would turn to a specific page in the book.

That would be really easy to put together because its mostly just pictures...I was really excited when I came up with that idea because I realized I could create different types of Kindle eBooks that used the same style!

The books of the past depended on the reader turning to a particular page number to answer the question. Kindle eBooks don't have page numbers.

But I wondered if there was another way... I ran a quick test and discovered something even better -- something that made me realize I was really on to something... something revolutionary:

Kindle eBooks support hyperlinks -- and even better -- they support internal linking! So -- instead of having the reader turn to a specific page they just click on a link and... like Magic they are transported to a different section in the eBook.

My very first eBook using this technique was a book about dinosaurs titled the "The Dinosaur Name Game"

The eBook had 20 pictures of dinosaurs -- which I got royalty free from the Public Domain. Each picture had 3 answer choices. One choice was correct and the other two were incorrect.

Each wrong answer lead to a page that gave a hint. Then the reader would click a link to go back to the question and try again.

The correct answer would lead to a "Congratulations" page. Then the reader would click a link to go to the next question.

I was able to put this book together in a weekend. And best of all there was very little writing... it was just coming up with Questions and Answers. It was a lot of fun to put together. (This would be a great project for a parent/child to do together!)

I sold thousands of copies of that eBook -- then I created two more similar ones. At the peak they were doing $2500.00 a month in sales. I ended up selling the rights to the eBooks to another publisher.

Are you old enough to remember those old Adventure Path stories from the 70s and 80s? I used to read them as a teenager -- do you know the ones I'm talking about? They were really fun!

The character has a choice of two or more paths they can take...

...the reader chooses a path and turns to the page for that path...

...and the reader gets to find out the consequence of their choice!

(There could be multiple paths and multiple decisions per book)

This Magic Hyperlinking Method is PERFECT for creating this style of Kindle eBook. I made an Adventure Path style eBook myself called "Timmy's Big Zoo Adventure" over a single day.

Here are the first few pages as it is laid out in Microsoft Word (you can use any Word Processor to create these)...

Notice the hyperlinks? The reader chooses which path they want to follow and clicks the link to go to that part of the story. What makes it so fun for the reader is the story is different everytime they read it because they can follow different paths!
